I thought it would be interesting to go back and find the Series A deals that actually "mattered" each year with the benefit of hindsight: 👇

More precisely, only a few startups / year realize $5bn+ outlier valuations and return funds for larger VCs. There is a power law where 99% of deals are "noise" and an astute VC's job is to find a needle in each year's haystack.
