places i’ve learned to show up alone and feel the perfect mix of comfortable in both my own skin and the uncertainty:

- concert of an artist i love
- the surf
- community meetups like backgammon club or run club
- blind friend dates
- gjelina bar for a glass of wine and pizza
- any cocktail bar for that matter

The only place I can do this is either the beach or Barnes & Noble's

besides that I feel like everybody is staring at me.. when in reality absolutely no one is paying me any mind and they have shown up by themselves as well

and mental model that helped me get over that fear is that people stare because they are curious and want to meet you, not because they’re judging you
