Louisiana Enacts Crypto Law Safeguarding Node Operators and Prohibiting CBDCs ! Louisiana has amended its legislation to ban central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and set rules for miners and node operators. Effective August 2024, the law prohibits the state from participating in CBDC tests and mandates that foreign-owned mining companies divest their interests within a year, with penalties for noncompliance up to $1 million or 25% of their stake.
