Best advice I received when I was pregnant and about to be a mother for the first time:

Prioritise you. 
Not your baby. 

Why, you ask?

Because you’re the pilot of this plane and if the pilot gets down, they can’t fly the plane anymore and the plane crashes. 

Your baby depends on you the same way passengers rely on the pilot. 

If you’re down, you can’t parent properly.

I totally agree. 

Nevertheless that is a good advice a lot of women (including my wife) struggle with. 

I think it is easier for fathers as the parenting instinct to put your child above everything is not as strong.
