My stepfather, Alvin Young, died yesterday in Honolulu.

He had been in hospice care for six weeks.

My mother was with him when he passed. They were happily married for 30 years.

This photo was taken in March 2024 during my previous trip to Honolulu. It’s the last one I have of them together. We were at Hawaiian Memorial Park that day, visiting the graves of Alvin’s ancestors. 💔 

I’ll be traveling back to Honolulu for the memorial service.
