Hi all Today will discuss A case of 72 yr male pt came with history of abdominal pain.distension.and not passed stools since 5 days O/e Diffuse abdominal distension+ Tenderness+ Xray (yellow) shows grossly dilated gaseous bowel loops Pt kept on proctoclysis enema 2 pack and laxatives and discharged ∆ constipation

In the U.K. this guy would never leave ED without a CT (if anything just to rule out sinister cause like a mass) abdominal XR are old school! I do wonder sometimes if the clinicians art is lost somewhat by over reliance on tests but that’s the world we practice in nowadays
