Season 6 of Optimism Governance consists of councils and organizations contributing to the Ecosystem.

Citizens’ House 🏠

The Citizens' House operates on a one-person, one-vote model, providing a non-plutocratic counterbalance to the Token House. Its primary responsibility is allocating Retroactive Public Goods Funding, ensuring that resources are distributed in a way that benefits the entire ecosystem.

Optimism Grants Council ✍️

The Grants Council, led by Gonna, oversees allocating grants to support that align with Optimism’s goals. The council plays a crucial role in optimizing the distribution of resources to foster innovation and development within the ecosystem. In Season 6, it collaborates with the Developer Advisory Board to evaluate technical grants and milestones.

Developer Advisory Board 👨‍💻

The Developer Advisory Board, led by Zach Obront, supports the Optimism ecosystem by assessing technical grants and clarifying protocol upgrades. In Season 6, the DAB will continue to help the Grants Council by reviewing technical milestones and offering crucial input on the protocol's development​.

Security Council 🔐

The Security Council, led by @alisha, enacts protocol upgrades and maintains network security. It comprises trusted community members who ensure that proposed upgrades are safe and beneficial for the ecosystem.

Anticapture Commission🔄

The Anticapture Commission, led by @wish, was created to prevent large stakeholders, such as investors or OP chains, from dominating governance. It identifies and mitigates any attempts to capture the governance process, ensuring that decision-making remains decentralized and fair.

These councils collectively contribute to the governance of the ecosystem, each addressing different aspects of governance, security, and development.

Token House 🏘️

The Token House manages critical governance aspects, such as economic policy, protocol upgrades, and treasury management. Token holders submit, deliberate, and vote on key governance proposals, including governance fund allocations and protocol upgrades.
