Last week we announced Superbridge↔️ Rollies, our bridge solution for rollup teams. Now it’s time for a deep dive into our token migrator, a super helpful tool for getting ERC20s onto your rollup. Let’s get into it 👇🧵

As a reminder, Superbridge↔️ Rollies are our no-code, Bridge-as-a-Service solution for rollups You can read all about them at http://superbridge.app/rollies

Now every rollup, whether they have the backing of large VC’s or not, can access a high quality, robust bridge on the day they launch via Rollies. No messing with config files No coding Just point and click 🖱️

The first thing you’ll want to do after deploying your rollup is bridge some ETH (or your custom gas token) over to it. The second thing you’ll want to do is bridge over some ERC20 assets, we see stable coins like $USDC, $USDT being popular first choices, or meme coins like $MOG and $PEPE

As a rollup deployer you might not know the best way to get started with deploying these tokens, luckily our token migrator is here to help. All you need to do is whack in the address of the token on the settlement chain and it will load the some details into view for you. Here we can see we’re trying to bring $DOG over to our rollup

After initiating the migration we’ll be prompted to confirm a contract deployment via our connected wallet

Our rollup is built with the /op-stack🔴, so we're deploying an OptimismMintableERC20. It acts like a normal ERC20 but gives minting and burning rights to the StandardBridge for your rollup. Ssee the Optimism docs for more info https://docs.optimism.io/builders/app-developers/tutorials/standard-bridge-standard-token#about-optimismmintableerc20s

For /arbitrum Orbit💙🧡 rollups the process is similar, you send a small amount of the token to the rollup and the bridge contract handles deploying the token contract for you. For Arbitrum rollups the token deployed is a StandardArbERC20, very similar to the OptimismMintableERC20 just a slightly different interface to work with the bridge in question

After the token contracts have been deployed, you can then toggle them for display in the bridge. Couldn’t be easier!

The token migrator was a feature born out of necessity for rollup teams who are constrained on development bandwidth. Its now never been easier to deploy canonical assets and configure them for bridging 🕺

There’s a ton more to discover and play around with in the Rollies dashboard, so we’ll leave the rest to you. If you’re a rollup team, or a user looking to bridge to a rollup, please get in touch! We’d love to chat and see if Superbridge Rollies could help you!
