I have been involved in events for +12 years, all sizes, small, mediums and big, mostly electronic music ones, from club nights to festivals and raves, and sometimes think to myself that resources out there for people that are interested into throwing their own series of events are not common public knowledge so let's change that with this guide to build events will write a series of experiences as a "tutorial" text style, for those interested into jumping in and start creating their own nights, this 101 will be starting from a small night, then bar night, then club night, warehouse rave, concert or big event and music festival so let's start on what you need to fire up everything up, this may change from country to country because the costs are slightly different but the core idea is almost the same all the time so here we go imagine you want to start throwing parties, booking djs and creating amazing events, but you have absolutely zero idea how to play the game, you have some thoughts but no one to ask

first of all I would start on small party, think of a house party or something hosted at a venue for no larger than 100 people, this number is a sweet spot, for your first events aiming to get from 100 to 150 people but you can do smaller like 50 or 70 the basic foundation: - concept of the night, think of how do you imagine as attendee, what would be your utopic event, write that down if you can make a mental map this would be better this is your dna. the soul of your night. not just "techno party" or "bar night" go deeper. imagine what do you see, hear, feel? what’s the vibe? what’s the emotion? make a mind map if needed. don’t rush this. you’ll return to it often.

- idea of the series, think always as an edition and not just as one single night, this let your imagination flow better and smoother, also is a relief because you don't stress our for a single event, think of this as a baby who's growing up, every night as a mini concept that is under a big one, which we wrote down first for example: topic [concept]: techno night for upcoming local new djs, djs playing techno all night, on a 1 hr dj set running order, with 2 warm up, 1 main act and 1 after party dj, what is the message of the event? subtopic [series]: techno specific subgenres, specific colors focused, specific aesthetics, specific vibes, specific niche maybe one night is goth, the other is cyber, what does it smell?, is it hot? is it cold?, how the people dress up?, are they even dressed up?, decoration?, visuals? what kind of visuals?, what is the message of every night?etc.
