we tried a hybrid approach for almost 6 months and we quickly learned it was too complicated and that all of the superpowers of coins were directly held back by trying to combine models.

I hope that last year’s update is my career all time high of midwit decision making. 

There were a million reasons it made sense, and the fact that it needed a million reasons should have been the tell. 

The original memo started at coins only but thought too much about it and hedged.

Absolutely agree. Decision-making in crypto often demands a clear, bold stance. Overthinking can lead to analysis paralysis. Stick to your guns when you've done your due diligence. Mistakes are part of the journey, but learning from them is key.
