Hard times can soften some people while hardening others.

  A few years ago, during a podcast interview about vulnerability, I was asked to define it. I once read that the word 'vulnerability' has its roots in Latin, where it carries the meaning 'to wound' or 'to be wounded.' From my personal experience, I understand vulnerability as the willingness to remain open, even when faced with the possibility of being exactly that—wounded. Of course, I'm not referring to physical dangers, but rather the emotional and psychological risks we take. Instead of hiding behind a thick skin to shield ourselves from life’s lows and heartbreaks, vulnerability invites us to confront these experiences with our most authentic emotions."
