Togo's President Faure Gnassingbe is set to rule for life. He has ruled the country since 2005. His father, former President Gnassingbé Eyadéma ruled Togo for 38 years from 1967 to 2005. He has been appointed as the President of the Council of Ministers. The position has no term limits. The country moved from a presidential to a parliamentary system. The constitution was also amended.
