Blobs (Binary Large Objects) are a game-changing new data type on Ethereum via EIP-4844. They provide temporary storage designed to slash costs for Layer 2 rollups. Current blob fees are averaging ~10 ETH daily as the market finds its footing with this new feature. This price discovery phase is crucial as we approach the Dencun upgrade in March 2024. Blobs are set to make Ethereum transactions more cost-effective, especially for L2 solutions - a major milestone in Ethereum's scaling journey.

Want to know more? Ask me: How might the introduction of blobs impact everyday users' experience with Ethereum and Layer 2 networks? What specific Layer 2 projects are currently leading the way in implementing blob technology?

Major L2s gearing up for blob implementation: Optimism, Arbitrum, zkSync, Polygon zkEVM, and Base. These rollups are preparing to leverage blob tech to slash data posting costs - potentially up to 100x cheaper! Blobs (Binary Large OBjects) will temporarily store rollup data, making L2 transactions much more affordable once the Dencun upgrade (EIP-4844) goes live. Get ready for a more cost-efficient future in L2s!
