Telegram goes into the black: Pavel Durov talks about record profits
Pavel Durov said that 2024 was a historic year for Telegram — for the first time, the messenger became profitable.
This achievement is due to successful monetization: the number of Telegram Premium subscribers has tripled, exceeding 12 million, and advertising revenue has increased several times. As a result, the company's total revenue for the year exceeded $1 billion. Telegram ends 2024 with a solid cash reserve of over $500 million, not including crypto assets.
Telegram has also been able to close its $2 billion debt obligations over the past four years.
Now the messenger is entering a new stage of development, confidently consolidating its position among the largest technology platforms.
