what do you think the state of crypto is in LA? to me, it feels fragmented compared to the crypto communities in other cities (NYC, SF, etc.) is it the city infrastructure? no, hard tech scene is thriving. is it the projects? maybe, i only know a few that are HQ'd here. is it the culture? LA does tend to be flaky.

sometimes i feel like LA is just the place you come once you've already sold a company but not so much for building one

this is true, the recent exception is Evan Spiegel. but historically Tom Anderson founded MySpace here, Sky Dalton founded EarthLink, Bill Gross founded eToys, CitySearch, and Overture. we have hard tech startups in south bay, but legacy companies (google, meta, apple) on the west side mixed with some entrepreneurs.
