Sure it is a pretty crazy feat to build the pyramids, and how they did it is astounding! But, the reason for why is greater. Why was a civilization or more specifically a group of elites so motivated to build them?

Belief in the significance of the afterlife, probably a sense of patriotism for Egypt and the pharaoh as its leader / pseudo-god? This is kinda just parroting what people say though
