Even if you manage to convince all of CT to switch, at best you have a fragment of Twitter. People still want to read about the election and other stuff and will just go back over time. Network effects are really strong. 

If you look at social networks there are really two paths to success: 

1. Be early on a new technology wave that leads to media production (e.g. TikTok and mobile video) 

2. Create a new social primitive that brings people together in a fundamentally unique way (snapchat and ephemeral content)
