Won’t the us election affect what’s going on in Ukraine?

If we're talking about it from this side, it probably will. In truth, I don't understand political processes well enough to know what a victory for each side would mean for Ukraine. I just wanted to defuse the situation a little bit, really. 
And I don't remember if I said it or not, but I'm not in Ukraine with my family anymore, so I'm safe now
