Is it illegal to give away money to followers?

What if I said I would give 1 ETH to a randomly chosen follower this Friday?

1 ETH is way more than enough to setup a workstation, fund my trading wallet, sort out my rent, pay for some online tech courses and fight my way out of the trenches. I’m  of being broke and jobless.
