Like most things that go towards the higher end, you'll get top performance but it will be harder to service. As long as you take good care of it that wouldn't be often, but when the time comes for a restring you'll have to find a shop that has the press for it. Otherwise they are insane; average person can get a 3 inch group at 50-60 yards

hm. what is the average time between restrings for a ravin? any maintenance tips that might get overlooked? I take care of my things but am a bookish novice.

Very infrequent actually, only once every 2 years or so with moderate use. Only other things you might need to do is keep the strings and cables waxed (very easy), keep it in a case when not being used, and store in a cool dry environment. That's really all you need!
