AI is going to do to software what YouTube did to tv shows and movies there is going to be apps everywhere everyone you know will be app developers there will so much junk you will complain and you’ll spend more time on these new apps than the polished ones and it won’t even be close maybe

Still not totally convinced of that personally. AI generated code will slowly start putting out more and more bad code, models with train on it, spit out even worse code, etc. It’s a reality we’re already starting to see on GitHub, and we’ll probably get to a point where the code AI gives you will only work to an extent or just be busted from the beginning. Not to mention how fast development frameworks move, as AI could give you conflicting libraries or struggle to keep up with the changes being made. I do agree that we’re perhaps approaching “end user programming” which is dope and something I want to see, but it will be for smaller problems and projects. Great read on that here: https://www.inkandswitch.com/end-user-programming/

I’m not totally convinced either but i find the YouTube analogy somewhat helpful- Hollywood still exists. And Silicon Valley will. But the bar for creating and sharing video content went to zero. And we have a gazzillon hours of crap. But also creators like Mr beast emerge.
