Our son is back for the holidays from uni with his enormous appetite. Lunch today chicken tikka and butter naan with basmati rice and a little tomato and cream sauce made from the last over marinade. All done from scratch. Went down a treat!!

We live in the Isle of Man - moved here seven years ago. We still haven’t found a great cappuccino but on our recent holiday in Madeira we discovered the new nespresso machine and also bought some very grown up cups and saucers and voila - delicious cappuccino at home!!

On a guided walking tour of Funchal I. Madeira last week we were shown a quirky little feature of the town: a gossip house (the little building on top of the wall in the right) where people went to gossip and eavesdrop to get the latest. Always positioned on a busy street or outside a church! old style twitter?
