removing the cost for real users to join and contribute to the network is an existential problem farcaster needs to solve

most people don't pay for social media - doesn't matter if it's $1 or $10 - it's not something they're used to

this is also an existential problem for apps building on farcaster

I myself love the way it is now. I wouldn't want any ads popping up on my feeds. I think the $$ is necessary for farcaster to stay in fund for development.

The money is not being used for anything right now, not even paying hubs for storing the data

Then I'll support for a no fee sign in. If this is the case. Indeed, there are some who were hindered to join due to the fee. It's one of the most "feedback" i received whenever i try to on-board my irl frens. Now i am curious what's the use of fees if not using it for hubs etc.
