The cognitive dissonance is strong here.. MM continually asserts that increasing the supply of content is of grave importance, yet does absolutely nothing to attract new users/content creators (And attracting new users doesn't require marketing!)

according to Dan only 1% of new users are going to produce interesting content so the options are to find ways to activate existing users to post more (streaks/rituals/tweet mirroring) or attract new users at a big enough scale to kickstart the content flywheel maybe MM is just being conservative by treating trying to attract lots of new users as a last resort and trying to make do with the users that we have currently? curious what your proposals are for attracting new users that don't require marketing are

as an existing low activity user I don't feel the tradeoff of investing time into posting into the void, even as replies, is worth it anymore
