yes u must sign the message to verify your address

You have to connect your wallet when you claim your airdrop. I would be surprised if you need to connect it in advance. 

Also, connecting your wallet to degen.tips lets you track your status there, which is nice but optional.

Good to know. I always told people to do it just in case cuz I wasn’t sure
