This was meant to be a treat, but it was overshadowed by sad news. University of the Arts, where my husband teaches, an institution that has been a cornerstone of the arts since 1870, announced its permanent closure this weekend. Students, just like the ones from this youth orchestra, will lose their school next week.

So true.. I wish art funding was taken more seriously in the US but unfortunately it’s considered nonessential. 😕
