Been reading a lot about Pace Layering. And I’ve been thinking a lot about ppl’s ideas of the future of NFTs and if I think there’s actually a future. “NFTs will mature in the slower pace layers” is what true believers keep saying. But will we ever actually get there?

Fashion layer hype died (goodbye ‘21/22), but theoretically the Commerce layer utility remains. BUT Pace layering only works if each layer eventually receives the innovation. And will enough ppl care about NFTs but the time that happens?

Maybe some technologies just fizzle before penetrating the deeper layers? Or maybe NFTs become something else that’s actually accepted by everyone outside of CT who think they’re a scam. What say you?

If you’re unfamiliar w Pace Layering it’s basically a framework that describes how complex systems function through multiple layers that change at different speeds, where fast layers (ie fashion) drive innovation while slow layers (ie culture) provide stability.
