one thing i've realised is that aliens probably don't care at all about humans imagine having a gas stop in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of ants around do you ever converse with ants? or do you have better things to do and better places to be? the fact that government is hiding aliens becomes even weirder

That’s assuming consciousness is as commonplace throughout the galaxy as ants here on Earth We would probably care more about ants if they were the only living things on this planet besides us

one of the most mind-blowing realizations after reading "blindsight" was that consciousness might not be evolutionary good when optimizing for traveling to stars
