Ok I’ll give a variant opinion here. I believe Trump really isn’t smart. Protectionism is an ideology of another century, and the consequences will be huge on the world basket. Those who will pay the higher price are actually American citizens. This will be extremely hard for them, and especially for lower and middle class. Those who say the industries will move back to the US are completely delusional, but be it.

That being said. Unless China decides to invade Taiwan tomorrow, markets can only go up from here. This is literally the tougher market crisis of the decade, but tariffs will eventually be removed, the market has priced it. So now is a good time to reflect on the gains that are to come rather than the loss that we endured.
