Also important to note that geckoterminal shows β€žreal projectsβ€œ while dexscreener shows mostly memes (which game KPIs and pay for the positioning). So, it seems good discovery is possible but more profitable is giving prio to scammers, grifters today.

New tokens via socmedia like tw, Farcaster, Tg chats as well as dexscreener. But I spend 95% time to look at existing tokens, interesting ecosystems (Eth, near, cosmos, etc) to track their paths. That includes CoinGecko, Dune, Tokenterminal, select ecosystem chats or my websites where I integrate CoinGecko, forums to get an overview and spot some trends. https://scaleweb3.com/crypto-narratives/ https://defi-reporting.com/dashboard/

hmm are you saying that you look at "older" tokens in different "established" ecosystems to identify trends? for eg say, monitoring the performance of ai tokens across various chains to see how they’re doing?

I don’t see much difference among AI tokens on different chains. I track various categories and look at top assets per category such as l1s, l2s, DeFi, memes, Ai.. For bigger categories like l1 ecos or DeFi I have subcategories like DEXs & lending. Ultimately I wanna see which category outperforms & bet on the fastest horse and the correct rotations. Example: Eth > Eth meme/select DeFi/L2 > smaller defi/l2 meme Sol > meme Base > top meme/local DeFi > smaller meme That said, I have pretty strong opinions on which projects keep outperforming price/tech-wise and it makes a lot more sense to stay up-to-date with those and recognize catalysts than to follow just price and the daily changing narrative when good performers might perform different short-term but perform similar over longer timeframes. > Iβ€˜m avoiding long-term losers, occasionally make short-term plays aside my multi-months/year holds for extra gains & reposition portfolio based on ecosystem/asset views
