My son made close to zero eye contact for the first the first 1.5 years of his life. He's now 2.5, and it's gotten so much better. 

Just a moment ago, he was playing with his blocks (intensely, as he does), and caught me watching him. He looked right at me, gave me a huge grin, and then went back to building, now smiling (though still intense).

He's now looking up every minute or so to check in, smiling, and going back to his work.

Beautiful and moving. Those moments are so key. Got to keep putting our technology away to catch them.
