Today marks one month since Mom left us. I usually avoid sharing emotional thoughts, but this feels important. To everyone out there: love your parents. Truly love them. Understand them. Posting pictures on Mother’s or Father’s Day means nothing if you’re not there when they need you most. One day, you’ll long to hear their voice or your name called by them—but you won’t. You might be chasing success or comfort, but no achievement can replace the value of a parent’s love. In the last two years, I’ve met many people in hospitals—sons and daughters far away, elderly couples left to navigate life alone. It’s heartbreaking. Life isn’t perfect, and it’s not always easy to be with your parents, but there’s always a way. They held your hand as you took your first steps. Be there to hold theirs when they need you. Don’t take this time for granted. One day, all you’ll have is memories—make them count.
