Feeling you, Adrienne and all. Was a shy, fearful one, and practiced my way through all the way to becoming a teacher in a technology Academy on a prior job. Usual overnight success over a decade π Preparation, and practice many already suggested. A helpful detail not yet read: Be early (schedule permitting)...

... Meaning, if one can, be in the room and/or on stage before the crowd, socialize a bit. Stepping out, in front of a crowd is often more frightening, than having them slowly trickle in. Also, make a few acquaintances, that you then can look at, when presenting/speaking. This eye contact also creates connection. πͺ
