Bioluminescent waters in Tasmania If you have ever seen a firefly, you must have witnessed bioluminescence, the radiation emitted by living organisms. Although most bioluminescent creatures are sea creatures, and when the underwater is illuminated by these creatures, the whole sea seems to glow with a magical light. These types of waters exist all over the world, but the Derwent River in Tasmania in spring is different: biluminescence waves, just below the aurora borealis, are a natural electrical phenomenon that forms colorful auroras.
