Point 7 about the Superfan is why I'm bullish for on-chain music. It just makes sense for there to be a direct two way relationship between artist and fan. Artists who are in it for the long haul - who are prepared to build their audience one fan at a time - and who are able to sustain themselves for longer - are really well positioned to ride this next wave.

As long as more new artists choose to go independent instead of signing with UMG, a lot of the predictions in this article could come true. But we shouldn't underestimate the power of historical catalogs, most people still say that it's the classics that they truly love. I’m not sure what it'll take for new music to become more important or valuable, maybe it’s just a matter of time
