I don't let the mean rude customers get to me. Why? Let me tell a story. I was working my first job. This guy came up to the register, very angry and rude. I was shocked. What did I do to deserve this? He stormed out of the store. Immediately after, a woman came in, came directly up to me and apologized on his behalf. She said "I'm so sorry. That's my son. We just lost a family member." That has always stuck with me. Usually, I am having a very brief interaction with the customers I serve. I don't know what is going on with them. I don't know what they are going through. Is it fair for me to be treated that way? Absolutely not. But I choose to not judge because I don't know what kind of day they're having. And that is how I will go through life being successful. Choosing kindness and compassion as much as I can. (This is my submission for this round, inspirational stories ❤)

This is a great story and reminder that we can choose what to believe about another person. The idea that there may be something we don't know that influences a bad behavior, and to show grace is beautiful. I'm so happy you got an apology and a better understanding of the situation. Your lesson is our lesson. Thank you for it!

I'm glad it spoke to you! Often when I have a customer who is not being so nice, I remind myself of this. It's really helped me a lot throughout my years of customer service!
