What does special mean in the first place? Is it standing out or being better at something? Or is it related to privilege and origin?

Sometimes I interpret it that way that each and every individual has the potential to be different, therefore, they are all special.
But do we have to have "normal" opposing "special"?

If it's not the case then I guess I can disagree with you, that by everyone being special the meaning of special is not hindered.
