Gandom Beryan Desert, located in the Lut Desert of Kerman, is one of the hottest places on Earth. Temperatures can exceed 70°C. Its surface is covered with dark volcanic rocks that absorb heat. The name comes from old caravans whose wheat burned under the extreme heat.
