A long time ago, back in 1986, a game called Silpheed was released. It was a 2D space shoot-'em- up, a genre that was hugely popular at the time. The game itself wasn't bad either, so it was released on various 8-bit Japanese computers, a 16-bit Apple machine, MS-DOS PCs, and even made it to the Sega CD in 1993. The standout feature of Silpheed was the ability to change weapons for your spaceship between missions, unlike most other shoot-'em-ups where players would grab temporary weapon buffs. Did you ever play it?
