Why does everyone continue to believe the delusion that "democracy" is a good thing, that it is something to protect? Democracy is literally the majority forcing their will unto the minority. Ask yourself, how often has the majority of people been wrong about something in history?

99% of human history involves a minority imposing their will upon the majority.

Most of the atrocities happen because of that.

Perhaps you should study the atrocities that occurred this way before criticizing democracy.

No system is perfect. But what we have with democracy is far better than anything else we had. 

And yeah that was a really stupid take.

What a foolish take of this guy, as you said it was mostly a small ruling class deciding what they want. This especially holds true in the last 20 years when political manners and consequences have eroded.

I think this is spoken from a position of not knowing what life is like under something other than democracy.
People who live in theocratic states or autocracies can clearly define why democracy (while not perfect) is the least bad type of government
