Romania's electoral authorities are using blockchain technology to count and verify votes in the presidential election. This news was published by Ovidiu Damian, a Romanian blockchain developer, on the X social network. People around the world can track transactions in a public ledger and on a dashboard on the official website of the Romanian electoral authorities. So far, 83,859 blocks containing cryptographically verified votes have been added to the blockchain. Romania's special telecommunications service also participates in this project. Romania has already made progress in the field of blockchain, including the launch of a non-traditional token trading (NFT) platform by ICI D| Services and publication of the first official news in NFT format by the Romanian National News Agency. This innovation could create a new standard for government elections around the world and use blockchain technology for greater transparency and immutability of data.
