Reddit founder wants to buy TikTok and move it to blockchain
 Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian has joined a bid to buy TikTok’s US operations. The move, led by billionaire Frank McCourt, aims to integrate blockchain technology into the platform.
 Ohanian will bring his experience in social media to the role of strategic advisor. The acquisition proposal, known as the “People’s Offering,” aims to give users and content creators ownership of their audiences and data by using distributed ledger technology.
 Frequency, a Polkadot parachain, is set to support the transformation. The acquisition effort comes amid growing regulatory pressure on ByteDance to divest its US assets. Ohanian stressed that this approach will make TikTok a platform controlled by its user community, not corporate entities.
