Here's a rundown on what value the network provides, how the DYM token is used, and the project's roadmap 🧵

• Execution - On RollApps where blocks are optimistically created.

• Settlement + Consensus - On Dymension where RollApp state is published by RollApp sequencers.

• Data Availability - On networks like Celestia, EigenDA, or Avail, where transaction data is published by sequencers.

RollApps have a unique combination of features:

• Support CosmWasm contracts written in Rust + EVM contracts written in Solidity.

• Can use any token for gas, including their own.

• Are “enshrined,” meaning smart contracts aren't relied on for settlement + consensus.

What value does Dymension provide?

• Security - Settles transactions + state changes on RollApps.

• Interoperability - An IBC Bridge enables RollApps to interact with IBC chains.

• Liquidity - An embedded AMM provides liquidity across RollApps.

The DYM token provides the security needed for the execution, settlement, and consensus functions:

• Execution - Sequencers must bond DYM for the right to produce blocks.

• Settlement + Consensus - DYM is staked to secure Dymension and the functions provided to RollApps.

Developers can use a RollApp Development Kit to customize + launch RollApps, with 330.00 million DYM (33% of the initial token supply) allocated to be distributed across future incentive programs.

Dymension launched with 0 live RollApps, but four stages are planned:

"The Singularity Point"

The current stage. 

It introduced governance and plans to launch a program to incentivize users to bridge assets to Dymension + provide liquidity to the network's embedded AMM.

"2D Permissioned RollApps"

This stage plans to launch the first RollApp, dubbed “RollApp X.” 

After this, governance will be able to vote to approve prominent testnet RollApps to launch on mainnet, and Season 2 of DYM Rolldrops will begin.

"3D Permissionless RollApps"

This stage plans to remove the need for governance approval to launch RollApps, making RollApp creation permissionless. 

This stage also plans to introduce RollApp Credit Streams that distribute DYM to the top RollApps by total value bridged (TVB).

"4D Internet of RollApps"

While lacking concrete details, this final stage  envisions a “circular and self-sustainable onchain economy that interconnects countless autonomous crypto services, games, and applications throughout the globe.”
