Random takeaways on Argentinan wine after spending a week winetasting in Mendoza:

- exceptional value. Had a glass of $2 wine that blew me away
- they rarely age wines? Everyone I talked to much preferred younger vintages
- it's more cost effective to buy a bottle at a restaurant than 2 glasses of wine (?)
- high-elevation chardonnays taste more like chablis
- Catena Zapata is fantastic

I primarily drink new world wines, but after this trip I'll definitely be adding some bottles of Mendoza malbec to my repertoire.
