There are three periods in summer in Korea. We call them Cho-bok, Jung-bok, and Mal-bok. Each word means the beginning of the hot summer, the middle of the hot summer, and the end of the hot summer, respectively. We usually eat special meals for our health during these periods. Today is Jung-bok, so I ate a meal for Jung-bok. This is Sam-gye-tang.
