I was reading debates about the best African footballer and reminiscing about the games of Drogba and Eto'o. I happened to come across a highlight reel of Eto'o's moments, set to a track by one of my favorite rappers.
Didier and Samuel far surpass Salah in terms of trophies, while their goal contributions are roughly equal among the three.
There’s also a striking statistic showing that Salah hasn’t quite reached their level yet. Eto'o played in 20 finals and scored 13 goals. Drogba appeared in 17 finals and netted 12 goals. Salah, on the other hand, has played in 11 finals but scored only 2 goals.
He still has a chance to match Drogba and Eto'o, but for that, he’ll need to stay in European football for at least three more years and maintain his level. More importantly, he’ll need to win at least one more major league title, another Champions League, achieve something with his national team, and make decisive impacts in crucial matches. 0 reply
