Declan Rice’s second free-kick shot was rated at 0.97 xGOT, meaning Thibaut Courtois had a measly 3% chance of saving it for Real Madrid. For reference, xGOT doesn’t measure the position the shot was taken from, but where the ball ended up. And if it’s flying into the top corner with that power and precision—forget it, doesn’t matter who’s in goal. Neuer, Buffon, Courtois, whoever.
