The Athletic has published an infographic showing that Premier League clubs tend to buy defenders from France’s Ligue 1. Since the 2022/23 season, Premier League clubs have signed 16 central defenders from the French top flight. Let’s also highlight the strong position of the Championship in this chart and the presence of England’s League One.
