I was thinking something more polite, like a saber or discrete dagger. not really a dueling weapon tho.

Or a foil (not sure if that’s a proper English word- I mean that small fencing sword :)

yeah! that's the preferred weapon of Red Mages in the Final Fantasy universe. that's kinda how I imagine the "genetlemanly" fighter type.
