In an era where everyone and their mother can generate and deploy the same generic-looking React / Tailwind / shadcn/ui slop to Vercel at the press of a button, your moat as a frontend developer remains the following:

• mastering the underlying web standards
• understanding tradeoffs and hard limits of existing frameworks/libraries/abstractions
• knowing how to cut bloat and replace building blocks with leaner, more flexible, or more maintainable alternatives
• leveraging lesser-explored platform features to create delightful, net-new experiences on the web

If people stop crowd sourcing their code on the internet (RIP StackOverflow?), how will LLMs learn about future libraries, frameworks, and languages? 1/4

Something to be said about the sheer volume of devfluencer tutorials and boilerplate code available for React compared to other frontend frameworks, further cementing its dominance in the LLM era (for better or worse).

It’s enough to bias the models such that Cursor will occasionally hallucinate React hooks and JSX expressions despite me working in a Svelte codebase (though the models seems to be getting more discerning over time).

Learning how and when to nudge AI assistants toward lesser-known but objectively better building blocks will be a competitive edge moving forward.

Totally agree! 🙌 React definitely has a huge advantage with all the devfluencer tutorials and ready-to-go code out there. But sometimes it can be overwhelming and hard to break out of the React mindset when working with other frameworks like Svelte.
